Meet the Founder

Diamond Barlow was born in Atlanta, Georgia and raised in Washington, DC, where her passion for dance began at an early age. She credits her mother for first introducing her to the discipline of ballet at the age of five, laying the foundation for her lifelong relationship with movement.

After settling in the Washington, DC metropolitan area, Diamond reconnected with dance during her early teens, training and competing with a Maryland-based competition team before continuing her education at the Dance Institute of Washington. There, she trained extensively in hip-hop, commercial fusion, and jazz, developing a deep appreciation for the foundational grooves and culture of hip-hop. During this time, she served as Dance Captain of the traveling hip-hop competition team, Positive Directions Through Dance.

In 2016, Diamond moved to New York City to pursue a degree in fashion while continuing to expand her training under industry professionals and pioneers within the commercial dance space. While completing her bachelor’s degree, she remained deeply involved in performance and leadership, serving as a captain of her college dance team and actively building professional experience within the industry. Seen performing on The View, in Music Videos, and performing at historical venues such as the Solomon R. Guggenheim museum through the residency with Works & Process.

Diamond began her teaching journey in 2015 and has since provided dance education throughout Washington, DC and New York City. Her work is rooted in mentorship and the belief that dance is more than performance—it is a powerful outlet for confidence, emotional release, discipline, and personal growth. She is especially passionate about increasing access to quality dance education for underserved youth and young women.

Having grown up training in team environments, Diamond has experienced firsthand the transformative power of community, collaboration, and safe spaces for expression. She believes that movement belongs to everyone—every individual with the ability to move is a mover. Through creativity and the arts, she believes people can reconnect with themselves physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Today, Diamond continues her work as a professional freelance dancer, educator, and creative leader. Her journey remains grounded in faith, purpose, and service, keeping Christ at the center of her work and life.

“At the heart of my philosophy is a simple truth:

We are all stars in our own story.” - Diamond Barlow
